Chow down on the tasty organic cuisine at Chow! I've been to Chow several times now and I've never been disappointed. The food and setting at Chow make it a great choice for casual dining. On my most recent visit to Chow, I ordered the Organic Pot Roast of Beef. The pot roast was everything you could want from such a dish. The meat was tender and juicy, the veggies were savory, and the mashed potatoes were whipped perfectly. The house red wine that I ordered with the dish was delicious and reasonably priced. The service was prompt and friendly. The food that was ordered was prepared and delivered relatively quickly. The seating at Chow is self-service. In the Bay Area, this system is uncommon, but the staff have it figured out. A server has always brought menus soon after a table is chosen. The interior of the restaurant itself is somewhat dated, but nevertheless it's a comfortable and quaint dining environment. If you want a casual bite to eat in Lafayette, check out Chow. The food is savory and delicious! A great option for lunch or a casual dinner.

I love Chow Lafayette! I have been coming here for years for brunch. Even though it always looks full, I rarely have to wait for a table. I have sat in the main dining room, outside, at the bar and even in the tables closest to the market. Everything is organic and so fresh. The service is excellent and fast. They turn tables pretty quickly! My faves: Chicken sausage scramble Carnitas scramble Veggie frittata or omelet (can't remember which one??) Berry smoothie with Greek yogurt Blueberry pancakes If you miss the brunch time slots, enjoy the egg sandwich. It's a fried egg with veggies - so yummy! Everyone is also super nice, bathrooms are clean. Lots of parking options too in Lafayette Square.

I came down to Chow with my girlfriends family for Mothers Day. It looked busy and we were told that it would be an hour wait for a table, which makes a lot of sense, but we're pleasantly surprised it took only 15 minutes to sit down. The waiter was really nice and took our drink orders to start: 2 bloody Mary's and a Mimosa. Both were well made, so props. We all decided on our main plate, I went with the Eggs Benedict with ham and potatoes on the side, and I have to say they were delicious. Not the best I've ever had, but above average. Surprisingly, the highlight of my meal wasn't the eggs, but actually the potatoes. Perfectly cooked and salted. I was a happy camper after that meal. There was some mixed reactions from the table: me, my girlfriend and her mom highly enjoyed it and her dad and grandma were more on the "wouldn't come here again side", but I definitely would come back. At least for the Benedict. Well done.

Always reliable for well-cooked breakfast or dinner...especially dinner, Chow has historically been hard to get into during busy hours. But with several new, nearby restaurants opened in Lafayette, it is now a good bit easier to get a table for dinner, even a table for seven at 7pm on a Saturday as we just did. The Pecan Pie is extremely good, esp with fresh whipped cream. The Ginger Pumpkin Cake is really good too. Burgers on baguettes, the local lamb burger and the fish tacos are excellent at dinner. The beet salad with citrus and avocado is a personal rave for me.

Oh man the food here is good! I dined here tonight (Wednesday night) around 8pm and sat outside because the two other people in my group had brought their dog. I ordered the Sake Bloody Mary ($10.25), the Goat Cheese Pot ($7.50) as an starter and a large Beet Salad ($12.75) as my entree. The Bloody Mary was interesting, I have never had a bloody mary with Sake in it before. It was good, but I won't be ordering one here again because of the price. It was the most expensive bloody mary I have ever had in a restaurant. The Goat Cheese Pot starter was soooooo delicious! I plan on ordering this as a starter from now on. One little suggestion I would make is to include more bread with this starter. I loaded each piece of bread with cheese and there was still a good amount left over. I would suggest splitting this starter between two people. The Beet Salad was everything I wanted and more. I was surprised that this salad was so filling even though it does not have any meat. The beets were incredibly tasty and the goat cheese on this salad was melt in your mouth good. Can you tell I am having a love affair with goat cheese right now? I will order a smaller salad next time because I am still looking forward to trying their desert menu. The customer service here was great but not exceptional. I had to ask our waitress twice for a bowl of water for my aunt's dog and the waitress was just really brief. She maybe spent a total of three minutes at our table within the two hours we were there. Parking at the meters here is free before 10am and after 7pm.
